(Note: I didn't make these dolls. They are manufactured gift products which will be sold in Autumn 2007. They will also be available in major UK stores for Christmas).

Momiji are kawaii friendship dolls. Each one comes with a secret slot to write a note. I was asked to design a range inspired by japanese street fashion, Harajuku and manga. This was definitely one of the funnest projects I've ever done. I created the diagrams, which were sent to Hong Kong to be sculpted and made. Each one is cast in resin and hand painted. In addition, they are packaged in a cute, illustrated tin that can be used to store things or as a pen-pot.

Pinku Doll - It's a Pinku party in our hearts. I like meteor showers and mountains.

Kitty Doll - Kitty so pretty, it's always sushi time. I like James Bond and chocolate milk.

Yay, I'm so pleased to hear that! I have lots of the original Momijis as well. They're all in kimono and traditional clothing so this series was conceived to be funkier and based around Harajuku, cosplay and manga fashion ^_^. I'm working on some more dolls so I'd be interested to know if there's a particular style people like!

I know I'd like to see more lolita ones (just because I am one :p) and there's lots of different lolita styles. Maybe you could design a boy one I think momiji only ever made one boy and I'd love to see more boys as much as I love the traditional girly ones it's great to see something different.
